Flood Fill using seamless tiles or pattern fills
in PhotoImpact v8.0:
- Open the template you want to fill
- Using the Selection Wand, Select the area(s)* you
want to fill.
- Ctrl F to open the Fill options window
- Click on the tab for the type of fill you want to
use, i.e., Color, Gradient, Texture, Image - for a patterned fill graphic that
is not part of the PhotoImpact program, choose Image.
- Click on the button (with three ... on it to the
right of the path blank) to navigate to the image or seamless tile you want to
use and select it.
- Click on OK and your selection is filled with
your choice.
- If you want to change it, leave the selection
intact and repeat the process to choose a different pattern
fill.

*If you want to select more than one area, make
sure the '+' button in the Mode on the Options bar (upper left of the screen) is
active.

- Select section of template you want to
fill
- Open copy of the tile graphic in PSP
workspace
- On the right side of the screen, find the box
under the word Styles
- Click on the sideways triangle in that box
- The first option is a paint brush for solid
color; next is gradient; third is Pattern and the fourth is no option.
- Click on Pattern
- Now click on the box
- A pattern box will appear - using the slider on
the right go to the top where your graphic will appear - Click on it
- Click on okay
- Find the bucket on the left side of your screen,
click on it and hold over the selected area of your template and click.
There's your filled area.
In the pattern box - you can change the size of
your fill and the angle by playing with it until you like it. Thanks to Margaret
